Reidar Guðbergsson hit a great freekick 2 minutes into the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ölver Almarsson in the 14th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Hallmann Steinsson saved Sprakki Flatey from getting behind. When Viðar Darrason fell near the penalty area in the 15th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Sprakki Flatey's protests and gave Viðar Darrason a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Sprakki Flatey getting a freekick after 15 minutes play. Viðar Darrason hit a great ball. If Ölver Almarsson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Dagur Skorrason made a fantastic save in the 26th minute, when Freysteinn Skaptason sent off a good shot on target. Through an outstanding action, after 28 minutes, Dagur Skorrason successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. The supporters of Sprakki Flatey booed when Númi Hrísey was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 28 match minutes in a wonderful position. Kaldi Loftsson didn't get a good kick on the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Ölver Almarsson in the 32nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Hallmann Steinsson prevented the ball from getting in the gole. An unexpectedly hard shot by Reidar Guðbergsson in the 37th minute of play forced Sprakki Flatey's goalkeeper Hallmann Steinsson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When the match had gone on for 38 minutes, Bóas Ásbjörnsson took a quick shot and it went in 1-0 without a chance for Dagur Skorrason to make any attempt to save it. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Ölver Almarsson to make the kick off. In the 51st minute, Viðar Darrason hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With a little luck, Sprakki Flatey's Hallmann Steinsson got control of the ball when Rósmann Eiðsson tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 63rd minute, Númi Hrísey's Ölver Almarsson dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-2. After 68th play minutes Ölver Almarsson shot 1-3, a short shot which went by Hallmann Steinsson and just under the crossbar into goal. After a rather tough play, Sprakki Flatey's Viðar Darrason got a free kick in the 73rd minute. Ölver Almarsson succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 1-4 in the 75th playminute. Hleiðar Aðalmundsson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 78th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dagur Skorrason having to interfere. Ölver Almarsson who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 80thth minute tested the skills of Hallmann Steinsson when he managed to save the team from getting behind. The supporters of Númi Hrísey booed when Sprakki Flatey was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 85 match minutes in a wonderful position. Elentínus Guðþórsson didn't get a good kick on the ball. Hallmann Steinsson acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 86th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Rósmann Eiðsson. Hallmann Steinsson made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ölver Almarsson in the 88th minute. Hallmann Steinsson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ölver Almarsson in the 90th minute of the match. When the final whistle sounded Númi Hrísey left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Sprakki Flatey.
