Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Rólant Styrmisson started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. 6 minutes in the game, Rólant Styrmisson fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Muggur Emilsson having to interfere. Illugi Guðnason showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Markús Svanbergsson, who was totally free with the ball in the 13th minute. Þóroddur Kjaransson might have been able to make a better finish in the 14th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Muggur Emilsson. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Þóroddur Kjaransson ran back to his position shaking his head. The crowd rose to their feet as Haukarnir's Rólant Styrmisson slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Muggur Emilsson. That made the score 1-0 after 16 minutes of play. Thor Viðarsson charged in rather forcefully in the 23rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Thor Viðarsson the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Vaxandi Hofsósi getting a freekick after 23 minutes play. Thor Viðarsson hit a great ball. Muggur Emilsson didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Þóroddur Kjaransson went, in the 25th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-0 was the resulting score. Haukarnir's Illugi Guðnason played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Markús Svanbergsson in the 28th minute of play. Illugi Guðnason showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Júlíus Fjalarsson in the 29th minute of the match. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 30th minute of the game. One of Vaxandi Hofsósi:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Haukarnir:s goal. Eðvar Traustason shot the penalty kick right outside the post. If Júlíus Fjalarsson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. With a little luck, Vaxandi Hofsósi's Muggur Emilsson got control of the ball when Gretar Goðmundsson tried to sneak it across the goal line. The crowd rose to their feet as Haukarnir's Rólant Styrmisson slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Muggur Emilsson. That made the score 3-0 after 39 minutes of play. Þóroddur Kjaransson could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 43rd minute of the match, but Muggur Emilsson made a huge save. Þóroddur Kjaransson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 46th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Júlíus Fjalarsson was the one to do the kick off. Markús Svanbergsson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 51st minute. Illugi Guðnason tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Júlíus Fjalarsson's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Illugi Guðnason read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 55th minute of play. Þóroddur Kjaransson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Muggur Emilsson having to interfere. In the 72nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Vaxandi Hofsósi's goalkeeper Muggur Emilsson, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. When Haukarnir's Rólant Styrmisson in the 74th minute got a chance for a shot 74th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. After 89 minutes, Finnur Nikulásarson mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Haukarnir and the Vaxandi Hofsósi players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 89 played minutes Haukarnir got a freekick which was hit by Finnur Nikulásarson. If Markús Svanbergsson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Haukarnir were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Vaxandi Hofsósi for a fine match.
