Spectators: 36 (Terracing: 28, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Genís Þórshöfn's Kolgrímur Víkingsson started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Genís Þórshöfn's Lars Georgsson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Hængur Hamarsson in the 3rd minute of play. After having played for 4 minutes, Hængur Hamarsson managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Arnason Hofsósi's supporters crossed their fingers, but Hængur Hamarsson was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 6 played minutes Arnason Hofsósi got a freekick which was hit by Otti Hjaltason. Leifur Guðbergsson took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 9th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Lars Georgsson. Genís Þórshöfn's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. 12 minutes into the match, Otti Hjaltason notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Genís Þórshöfn's Lars Georgsson. Lars Georgsson was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Áki Elmarsson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 17th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ubbi Eyjólfsson charged in rather forcefully in the 19th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Ubbi Eyjólfsson the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 19th minute of the game. One of Arnason Hofsósi:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Genís Þórshöfn:s goal. In the 24thth minute of the game Otti Hjaltason who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Genís Þórshöfn's Lars Georgsson was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Áki Elmarsson struck a weak shot in the 27th minute. Freysteinn Loftsson didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Genís Þórshöfn. Otti Hjaltason received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 31st minute. Lars Georgsson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Áki Elmarsson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 39th minute, Kolgrímur Víkingsson got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Hængur Hamarsson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 45 minutes of play, Genís Þórshöfn's Áki Elmarsson made it 2-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Freysteinn Loftsson was left in no man's land by his defense there! All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Otti Hjaltason to make the kick off. Hængur Hamarsson who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 56thth minute tested the skills of Lars Georgsson when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Ubbi Eyjólfsson was shown his second yellow card after 60 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. After a rather tough play, Arnason Hofsósi's Ubbi Eyjólfsson got a free kick in the 61st minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 63rd minute, Kolgrímur Víkingsson managed to get in a good position for a shot. Genís Þórshöfn's supporters rose to their feet, but Kolgrímur Víkingsson was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Freysteinn Loftsson breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Thanks to some nice moves Hængur Hamarsson could shoot a difficult shot in the 65th minute, which Lars Georgsson however easily saved by the left post. After some fancy dribbling in the 68th minute, Dalbert Gíslason managed to get in a good position for a shot. Arnason Hofsósi's supporters rose to their feet, but Dalbert Gíslason was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Lars Georgsson breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Hængur Hamarsson recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 70th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Kolgrímur Víkingsson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 73rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Arnason Hofsósi's Freysteinn Loftsson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Áki Elmarsson in the 75th minute of play. If Kolgrímur Víkingsson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 77th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 78 minutes into the match, Áki Elmarsson notched a goal, 3-1, to the right of Arnason Hofsósi's Freysteinn Loftsson. Freysteinn Loftsson was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Kolgrímur Víkingsson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 81st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Freysteinn Loftsson having to interfere. 83 minutes into the match, Kolgrímur Víkingsson notched a goal, 4-1, to the right of Arnason Hofsósi's Freysteinn Loftsson. Freysteinn Loftsson was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 90 minutes into the game, Grankell Brynjarsson was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Arnason Hofsósi's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Genís Þórshöfn the free kick. The supporters of Genís Þórshöfn booed when Arnason Hofsósi was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 91 match minutes in a wonderful position. Grankell Brynjarsson didn't get a good kick on the ball. Kolgrímur Víkingsson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 94th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 96th minute, Kolgrímur Víkingsson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. For all the effort they put into the match, the Arnason Hofsósi players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Genís Þórshöfn.
