Otti Hjaltason fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 55th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hjarnar Hingsson having to interfere. 65 minutes into the match, Arnason Hofsósi's Hængur Hamarsson sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Hjarnar Hingsson narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 67 minutes into the match, Arnason Hofsósi's goal looked a bit too open when Vernharður Eiðsson came free, but Freysteinn Loftsson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Otti Hjaltason's late challenge caught a Vaka Búðardal's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Otti Hjaltason helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Arnason Hofsósi's Otti Hjaltason got a free kick in the 78th minute. Vaka Búðardal's supporters crossed their fingers, but Vernharður Eiðsson was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When the final whistle sounded Vaka Búðardal left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Arnason Hofsósi.
