Samúel Helgason sent away a hard shot on goal in the 16th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 20th match minute, Megas Garði was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Heiðar Baugsson to maneuver through the defense. If Eyleifur Borgþórsson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 28th minute, Fimu Fiskarnir's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Heiðar Baugsson fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Kári Sigdórsson charged in rather forcefully in the 30th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Kári Sigdórsson the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. 30 minutes into the game, one of Fimu Fiskarnir:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. 35 minutes into the match, Megas Garði's goal looked a bit too open when Samúel Helgason came free, but Móses Kristjánsson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Fimu Fiskarnir's Ástvar Ellertsson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Eyleifur Borgþórsson in the 41st minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Megas Garði's zone, Samúel Helgason stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Móses Kristjánsson came out of the goal and Samúel Helgason tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Eyleifur Borgþórsson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 48th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ástvar Ellertsson having to interfere.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Eyleifur Borgþórsson to make the kick off. Samúel Helgason blasted a shot towards the goal in the 52nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Móses Kristjánsson having to make a save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Berent Hjörvarsson in the 61st minute of play forced Fimu Fiskarnir's goalkeeper Ástvar Ellertsson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Samúel Helgason received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 62nd minute. Móses Kristjánsson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A collision led to Fimu Fiskarnir getting a freekick after 63 minutes play. Kári Sigdórsson hit a great ball. Steinröður Högnason sent away a hard shot on goal in the 70th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 73rd minute Arnljótur Friðþjófsson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Móses Kristjánsson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Through an outstanding action, after 76 minutes, Móses Kristjánsson successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Berent Hjörvarsson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 77th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Steinröður Högnason kicked well hit freekick during the 79th minute of the match. After 80 played minutes, Megas Garði's Bolli Agnarsson shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Ástvar Ellertsson came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Megas Garði reached it. Fimu Fiskarnir's Ástvar Ellertsson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Eyleifur Borgþórsson in the 91st minute of play. Berent Hjörvarsson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 92nd minute. Ástvar Ellertsson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 97th minute, Eyleifur Borgþórsson got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Megas Garði had won after a very even match.
