A collision led to Glitra getting a freekick after 18 minutes play. Marinó Hjartarsson hit a great ball. In the 20th minute the ball was on its way in behind Glitra's goalkeeper Alfred Sighvatsson, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Davíð Kolbeinsson was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Logi Arnþórsson showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-0 in the 22 minute of play. Logi Arnþórsson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 25th minute. Davíð Kolbeinsson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Linkur Öræfi's Bernhard Mattíasson got a good chance for a goal in the 27th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Alfred Sighvatsson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bernhard Mattíasson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. During the 48th minute of the match Geirmundur Barðason completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Geirmundur Barðason a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. After 47 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Glitra! In the 50th minute there was a penalty for Linkur Öræfi. Tístran Andrésson stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Alfred Sighvatsson. 1-1.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Þórörn Hafsteinsson made a kick off. Þórörn Hafsteinsson struck a weak shot in the 58th minute. Davíð Kolbeinsson didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Glitra. Þórörn Hafsteinsson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 63rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
