Spectators: 35 (Terracing: 27, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Dagmann Valbjörnsson took the kick off in the first half of the match. Antoníus Gíslason who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 4thth minute tested the skills of Freyviður Finnbogason when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Dagmann Valbjörnsson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 5th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Freyviður Finnbogason having to interfere. 8 minutes into the match, Dögun Mývatni's goal looked a bit too open when Sigurjón Ragnarsson came free, but Sigsteinn Arnþórsson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Dagmann Valbjörnsson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 10th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Hlini Ásgrímsson in the 19th minute of play forced Dögun Mývatni's goalkeeper Sigsteinn Arnþórsson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Antoníus Gíslason got free with Freyviður Finnbogason in the 23rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. A hard shot by Frár Ellertsson from long distance, 25 minutes into the match, got Freyviður Finnbogason's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. In the 28th minute, Dagmann Valbjörnsson got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Antoníus Gíslason received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 29th minute. Freyviður Finnbogason tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Dagmann Valbjörnsson in the 31st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Freyviður Finnbogason saved Samval Akureyri from getting behind. After a defensive mix-up in Samval Akureyri's zone, Antoníus Gíslason stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Freyviður Finnbogason came out of the goal and Antoníus Gíslason tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Freyviður Finnbogason showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dagmann Valbjörnsson in the 39th minute of the match. The supporters of Dögun Mývatni booed when Samval Akureyri was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 40 match minutes in a wonderful position. Norðmann Gilsson didn't get a good kick on the ball. Antoníus Gíslason could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 41st minute of the match, but Freyviður Finnbogason made a huge save. In the 42nd minute, Dagmann Valbjörnsson fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. After some fancy dribbling in the 45th minute, Dagmann Valbjörnsson managed to get in a good position for a shot. Dögun Mývatni's supporters rose to their feet, but Dagmann Valbjörnsson was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Freyviður Finnbogason breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

Samval Akureyri's Freyviður Finnbogason played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dagmann Valbjörnsson in the 63rd minute of play. Kristall Hallsson charged in rather forcefully in the 65th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Kristall Hallsson the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Samval Akureyri getting a freekick after 66 minutes play. Kristall Hallsson hit a great ball. In the 71st minute Sigurjón Ragnarsson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sigsteinn Arnþórsson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Antoníus Gíslason had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 75th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Antoníus Gíslason in the 78th minute of play forced Samval Akureyri's goalkeeper Freyviður Finnbogason to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of Dögun Mývatni booed when Samval Akureyri was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 80 match minutes in a wonderful position. Harald Runólfsson didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 81st minute, Jómar Erlendsson sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Samval Akureyri's Freyviður Finnbogason didn't even have to move. Antoníus Gíslason recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 82nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Freyviður Finnbogason came out of the goal in the 87th minute to try and stop a shot by Dögun Mývatni's Kaj Elmarsson. But to his dismay, Kaj Elmarsson quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. Dögun Mývatni's Antoníus Gíslason got a good chance for a goal in the 90th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Dagmann Valbjörnsson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 92nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Dögun Mývatni fully deserved thier win.
