After a rather tough play, Ýmus Eskifirði's Sigjón Ketilsson got a free kick in the 12th minute. 13 minutes into the match, Firring Vík's Valentínus Maríasson broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. After 14 minutes of play Firring Vík's Sigurpáll Eyvindarson was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. After 14 played minutes Firring Vík got a freekick which was hit by Sigurpáll Eyvindarson. The audience was convinced that Hafliði Gregorsson's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Hörður Indriðason was relentless in the 15th minute of the game. In the 18th minute Finn Eyjólfsson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hörður Indriðason saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
