Spectators: 35 (Terracing: 27, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Snjólfur Gunnbergsson started the match with the kick off. The supporters of Virkinn Bæ booed when Skarp Bæ was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 2 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dagfinnur Jökulsson didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Snjólfur Gunnbergsson in the 7th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Brynþór Ingólfsson saved Skarp Bæ from getting behind. Snjólfur Gunnbergsson took the ball and in the 13 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Brynþór Ingólfsson. Brynþór Ingólfsson dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. Hinrik Ægisson hit a great freekick 17 minutes into the match. In the 17th minute, Kornelíus Jafetsson sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Virkinn Bæ's Hóseas Hlynsson didn't even have to move. Snjólfur Gunnbergsson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 19th minute. Brynþór Ingólfsson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 22 minutes into the game, Virkinn Bæ's Björgmundur Georgsson nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Brynþór Ingólfsson made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. Snjólfur Gunnbergsson got in the 27th a clear chance and fired away a hard shot against goal, but Brynþór Ingólfsson handled the situation perfectly and made a save by the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Víkingur Rafnkelsson in the 30th minute of play forced Virkinn Bæ's goalkeeper Hóseas Hlynsson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 35 played minutes Skarp Bæ got a freekick which was hit by Ásgrímur Garðarsson. Snjólfur Gunnbergsson recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 36th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Snjólfur Gunnbergsson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Brynþór Ingólfsson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Snjólfur Gunnbergsson in the 42nd minute of play. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Víkingur Rafnkelsson made a kick off. With his leg Brynþór Ingólfsson managed to avoid a goal in the 53rdth minute, when Virkinn Bæ's Björgmundur Georgsson fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Víkingur Rafnkelsson in the 55th minute of play forced Virkinn Bæ's goalkeeper Hóseas Hlynsson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 56thth minute of the game Snjólfur Gunnbergsson who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Skarp Bæ's Brynþór Ingólfsson was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. A collision led to Skarp Bæ getting a freekick after 58 minutes play. Víkingur Rafnkelsson hit a great ball. Thanks to some nice moves Björgmundur Georgsson could shoot a difficult shot in the 65th minute, which Brynþór Ingólfsson however easily saved by the left post. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 68th minute of the game. One of Skarp Bæ:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Virkinn Bæ:s goal. Skarp Bæ:s Brynþór Ingólfsson showed great skill when he stopped Rafnar Friðþjófsson:s penalty. Virkinn Bæ's Björgmundur Georgsson got a good chance for a goal in the 79th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Víkingur Rafnkelsson's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Hóseas Hlynsson read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 83rd minute of play. 90 minutes into the game, Snjólfur Gunnbergsson lined in a short shot 0-3 behind a frustrated Brynþór Ingólfsson. Snjólfur Gunnbergsson blasted a shot towards the goal in the 94th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Brynþór Ingólfsson having to make a save. 97 minutes into the match, Flóki Þorleifsson notched a goal, 1-3, to the right of Virkinn Bæ's Hóseas Hlynsson. Hóseas Hlynsson was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. When the match was over Virkinn Bæ could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Skarp Bæ throughout the match.
