In the 4th minute Játgeir Stefánsson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bjarnlaugur Steinsson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Játgeir Stefánsson in the 6th minute of play forced Park Grímsey's goalkeeper Bjarnlaugur Steinsson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With his leg Bjarnlaugur Steinsson managed to avoid a goal in the 7thth minute, when Orka Öræfi's Grani Guðþórsson fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Grani Guðþórsson recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 9th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Siglaugur Ernirsson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Siggeir Guðjónsson in the 11th minute of play. Játgeir Stefánsson struck a weak shot in the 20th minute. Bjarnlaugur Steinsson didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Orka Öræfi. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bjarmi Hrafnsson in the 22nd minute of play forced Orka Öræfi's goalkeeper Siglaugur Ernirsson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Grani Guðþórsson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 25th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bjarnlaugur Steinsson having to interfere. Játgeir Stefánsson's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Bjarnlaugur Steinsson read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 28th minute of play. In the 33rd minute Játgeir Stefánsson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bjarnlaugur Steinsson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Starri Mánason charged in rather forcefully in the 36th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Starri Mánason the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Orka Öræfi getting a freekick after 36 minutes play. Starri Mánason hit a great ball. The audience was convinced that Siggeir Guðjónsson's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Siglaugur Ernirsson was relentless in the 38th minute of the game. Siglaugur Ernirsson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Siggeir Guðjónsson in the 43rd minute of play. Siggeir Guðjónsson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 47th minute. Siglaugur Ernirsson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Játgeir Stefánsson made a kick off. In the 58th minute of the match Orka Öræfi got a corner. Park Grímsey's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Dvalinn Björgólfsson ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner went over the outstretched arms of Park Grímsey's goalie and right to Bjarnhéðinn Sævarsson. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. Park Grímsey's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. Bjarmi Hrafnsson could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 64th minute of the match, but Siglaugur Ernirsson made a huge save. Bjarmi Hrafnsson in the 66thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Siglaugur Ernirsson, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Siggeir Guðjónsson struck a weak shot in the 67th minute. Siglaugur Ernirsson didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Park Grímsey. Park Grímsey's Bjarnlaugur Steinsson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Grani Guðþórsson in the 69th minute of play. When Orka Öræfi's Játgeir Stefánsson in the 72nd minute got a chance for a shot 72nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Park Grímsey's goalie prevented a goal. Bjarnlaugur Steinsson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Grani Guðþórsson in the 74th minute of the match. Játgeir Stefánsson struck a weak shot in the 75th minute. Bjarnlaugur Steinsson didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Orka Öræfi. When Játgeir Stefánsson came up free with the goalie in the 77th minute, the Orka Öræfi fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Játgeir Stefánsson couldn't finish the play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Játgeir Stefánsson in the 79th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Bjarnlaugur Steinsson saved Park Grímsey from getting behind. In the 84th minute, Elbert Másson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The audience thought a goal was coming when Bjarmi Hrafnsson got free with Siglaugur Ernirsson in the 87th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After a defensive mix-up in Orka Öræfi's zone, Siggeir Guðjónsson stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Siglaugur Ernirsson came out of the goal and Siggeir Guðjónsson tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. A collision led to Park Grímsey getting a freekick after 96 minutes play. Búi Þengilsson hit a great ball.
