After having played for 3 minutes, Ástráður Stefánsson managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Strata Hofsósi's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ástráður Stefánsson was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Sigurdór Sigmarsson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 8th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 10th minute, Ástráður Stefánsson managed to get in a good position for a shot. Strata Hofsósi's supporters rose to their feet, but Ástráður Stefánsson was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Veturliði Brynjarsson breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Sigurdór Sigmarsson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 15th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Veturliði Brynjarsson having to interfere. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Alexíus Vífilsson during the 19th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. 20 minutes into the match, Sigurdór Sigmarsson notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Þorn Bíldudal's Veturliði Brynjarsson. Veturliði Brynjarsson was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Sigurdór Sigmarsson blasted a shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Veturliði Brynjarsson having to make a save. Sigurdór Sigmarsson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 26th minute. Veturliði Brynjarsson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Ástráður Stefánsson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 29th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 32 played minutes, Þorn Bíldudal's Yrkill Hannesson shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Héðinn Jónsteinsson came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Þorn Bíldudal reached it. If Ástráður Stefánsson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ástráður Stefánsson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 39th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ástráður Stefánsson blasted a shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Veturliði Brynjarsson having to make a save. In the 43rd match minute, Strata Hofsósi was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ástráður Stefánsson to maneuver through the defense. Úlfkell Ómarsson recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 47th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Bryngeir Sigdórsson made a kick off. In the 52nd minute, Bryngeir Sigdórsson left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Þorn Bíldudal fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. Ástráður Stefánsson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 63rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Veturliði Brynjarsson having to interfere. Úlfkell Ómarsson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 69th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Héðinn Jónsteinsson having to interfere. Úlfkell Ómarsson struck a weak shot in the 71st minute. Héðinn Jónsteinsson didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Þorn Bíldudal. If Úlfkell Ómarsson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Bryngeir Sigdórsson struck a weak shot in the 76th minute. Héðinn Jónsteinsson didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Þorn Bíldudal. In the 79th minute, Sigurdór Sigmarsson ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Veturliði Brynjarsson was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-2. When Sigurdór Sigmarsson came up free with the goalie in the 83rd minute, the Strata Hofsósi fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Sigurdór Sigmarsson couldn't finish the play. Úlfkell Ómarsson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 85th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Héðinn Jónsteinsson having to interfere. Sigurdór Sigmarsson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 88th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Veturliði Brynjarsson having to interfere. When the final whistle sounded Strata Hofsósi left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Þorn Bíldudal.
