When Jarl Snæsson came up free with the goalie in the 12th minute, the Harka Grindavík fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jarl Snæsson couldn't finish the play. After 14 played minutes Harka Grindavík got a freekick which was hit by Siguroddur Hallbjörnsson. In the 19th match minute, Harka Grindavík was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Siguroddur Hallbjörnsson to maneuver through the defense. The long shot by Sigurlás Jónþórsson in the 20th minute really tested Þjóðrekur Arnaldsson's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. 22 minutes into the match, Harka Grindavík's goalkeeper Þjóðrekur Arnaldsson had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Sigurdór Sigmarsson. After 23 minutes of play, Strata Hofsósi's Sigurdór Sigmarsson made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Þjóðrekur Arnaldsson was left in no man's land by his defense there! Sigurdór Sigmarsson let the left foot speak when in front of goal in the 31st minute shot 2-0 at rihgt post. Einir Ásbjörnsson recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 46th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 3-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Ástráður Stefánsson stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Þjóðrekur Arnaldsson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ástráður Stefánsson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After having played for 79 minutes, Ástráður Stefánsson managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Strata Hofsósi's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ástráður Stefánsson was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 81 minutes into the match, Harka Grindavík's goal looked a bit too open when Sigurdór Sigmarsson came free, but Þjóðrekur Arnaldsson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jarl Snæsson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 84th minute. Héðinn Jónsteinsson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Strata Hofsósi's Héðinn Jónsteinsson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Vébjörn Hingsson in the 86th minute of play. Jarl Snæsson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 87th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Strata Hofsósi's Ástráður Stefánsson in the 91st minute got a chance for a shot 91st didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Harka Grindavík's goalie prevented a goal. Vébjörn Hingsson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 95th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Strata Hofsósi had won after a very even match.
