Herbjörn Njarðarson kicked well hit freekick during the 4th minute of the match. 8 minutes into the game, Lúkas Gabríelsson was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Skífan Mývatni's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Virka Eskifirði the free kick. After 8 played minutes Skífan Mývatni got a freekick which was hit by Lúkas Gabríelsson. Hallberg Hingsson, 9 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Sólberg Arason received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 11th minute. Tryggvi Pálmason tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Hlíðberg Gautssons short, quick shot in the 17thth minute got Thor Hjartarsson to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. In the 20th match minute, Virka Eskifirði was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Janus Darrason to maneuver through the defense. Bjartur Þorkelsson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 21st minute. Thor Hjartarsson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 32 minutes into the match, Skífan Mývatni's goal looked a bit too open when Gizur Ásmundarson came free, but Tryggvi Pálmason reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 32nd minute, Herbjörn Njarðarson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Hlíðberg Gautsson came up free with the goalie in the 35th minute, the Skífan Mývatni fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Hlíðberg Gautsson couldn't finish the play. Bjartur Þorkelsson charged in rather forcefully in the 36th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Bjartur Þorkelsson the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Bjartur Þorkelsson kicked well hit freekick during the 36th minute of the match. Sólberg Arason fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tryggvi Pálmason having to interfere. Oddur Ívarsson's late challenge caught a Virka Eskifirði's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Oddur Ívarsson helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Virka Eskifirði booed when Skífan Mývatni was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 40 match minutes in a wonderful position. Oddur Ívarsson didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 45th minute Sólberg Arason shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tryggvi Pálmason saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Gizur Ásmundarson to strike the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Hlíðberg Gautsson in the 54th minute of play forced Virka Eskifirði's goalkeeper Thor Hjartarsson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Sólberg Arason had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 64 minutes of play, Virka Eskifirði's Sólberg Arason made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Tryggvi Pálmason was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 70th match minute, Skífan Mývatni was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Húnröður Sigmundsson to maneuver through the defense. Sólberg Arason fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 72nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tryggvi Pálmason having to interfere. With a little luck, Skífan Mývatni's Tryggvi Pálmason got control of the ball when Sólberg Arason tried to sneak it across the goal line. Thor Hjartarsson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hlíðberg Gautsson in the 76th minute of play. Bjartur Þorkelsson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 79th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Thor Hjartarsson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Hlíðberg Gautsson in the 81st minute of the match. 84 minutes into the match, Skífan Mývatni's goal looked a bit too open when Gizur Ásmundarson came free, but Tryggvi Pálmason reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Hlíðberg Gautsson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 87th minute. Thor Hjartarsson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Bjartur Þorkelsson in the 95th minute of the match. Thor Hjartarsson came out of the goal in the 97th minute to try and stop a shot by Skífan Mývatni's Hlíðberg Gautsson. But to his dismay, Hlíðberg Gautsson quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1.
