Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Sigurleifur Vignisson to make the kick off. Kristleifur Halldórsson came out of the goal and Aðalbergur Steingrímsson tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Sigurleifur Vignisson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 56th minute. Jósef Elíasson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Jósef Elíasson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sigurleifur Vignisson in the 58th minute of play. 64 minutes into the match, Örvun Bæ's goal looked a bit too open when Bóas Bergþórsson came free, but Jósef Elíasson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Vilji Vilhjálmsson recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 69th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. A hard shot 70 in the game by Vilji Vilhjálmsson from a close distance when the talented Kristleifur Halldórsson managed to make a qualified save. Fáfnir Akureyri's players were relieved. Bóas Bergþórsson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 72nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jósef Elíasson having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sigurleifur Vignisson in the 76th minute of play forced Örvun Bæ's goalkeeper Jósef Elíasson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Aðalbergur Steingrímsson during the 84th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Sigurleifur Vignisson took the ball and in the 96 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Jósef Elíasson. Jósef Elíasson dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 4-1. For all the effort they put into the match, the Örvun Bæ players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Fáfnir Akureyri.
