When the match had gone on for 14 minutes, Sigurleifur Vignisson put it in 2-1 from a short distance just to the right of Tryggvi Pálmason. If Sigurleifur Vignisson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 67th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 70 minutes into the match, Skífan Mývatni's goalkeeper Tryggvi Pálmason had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Bóas Bergþórsson. Fáfnir Akureyri's Sigurleifur Vignisson got a good chance for a goal in the 75th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Bóas Bergþórsson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 78th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Tryggvi Pálmason made an important save on a dangerous shot by Bóas Bergþórsson in the 84th minute. If Bjartur Þorkelsson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute.
