Hyltir Gíslason took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Höskuldur Jakobsson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Eyþór Gabríelsson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 14th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Elmar Vilmarsson having to interfere. In the 17th match minute, Ketill Kjörvogi was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ástmundur Boðason to maneuver through the defense. The supporters of Ketill Kjörvogi booed when Mark Mývatni was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 18 match minutes in a wonderful position. Freymóður Sveinþórsson didn't get a good kick on the ball. Arnes Björgvinsson succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 1-0 in the 24th playminute. Arnes Björgvinsson struck a weak shot in the 27th minute. Eyþór Gabríelsson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Elmar Vilmarsson having to interfere. 43 minutes into the game, Burkni Bergsson was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Ketill Kjörvogi's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Mark Mývatni the free kick. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.
The wind increased when Unnsteinn Galdursson made the kick off in the second half. In the 51st minute, Guðmundur Theódórsson got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Ólíver Kalmannsson hit a great freekick 56 minutes into the match. 62 minutes into the match, Ketill Kjörvogi's goal looked a bit too open when Unnsteinn Galdursson came free, but Elmar Vilmarsson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Unnsteinn Galdursson hit a great ball. In the 75th match minute, Mark Mývatni was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Játmundur Hjálmtýsson to maneuver through the defense. Hyltir Gíslason came out of the goal in the 76th minute to try and stop a shot by Ketill Kjörvogi's Höskuldur Jakobsson. But to his dismay, Höskuldur Jakobsson quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-1. Hyltir Gíslason made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Arnes Björgvinsson in the 84th minute of play. Arnes Björgvinsson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 94th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Höskuldur Jakobsson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 96th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hyltir Gíslason having to interfere. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Ketill Kjörvogi had won after a very even match.
