Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Viðar Sigmundsson took the kick off in the first half of the match. In the 3rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Eðalverk Dalvík's goalkeeper Þorsteinn Arnþórsson, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. When Krister Arnþórsson came up free with the goalie in the 5th minute, the Elgur Laugum fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Krister Arnþórsson couldn't finish the play. A collision led to Eðalverk Dalvík getting a freekick after 14 minutes play. Adam Hálfdánsson hit a great ball. In the 17th minute Krister Arnþórsson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Þorsteinn Arnþórsson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Skíði Pálmason made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Viðar Sigmundsson in the 20th minute of play. In the 23rd minute, Önundur Eiðsson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Elgur Laugum's Krister Arnþórsson got a good chance for a goal in the 26th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 27 minutes into the game, Níls Eyjólfsson was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Eðalverk Dalvík's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Elgur Laugum the free kick. After 27 played minutes Eðalverk Dalvík got a freekick which was hit by Níls Eyjólfsson. Harry Jósefsson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Skíði Pálmason having to interfere. Arnviður Hálfdánsson blasted a shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Þorsteinn Arnþórsson having to make a save. If Krister Arnþórsson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Skíði Pálmason showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Viðar Sigmundsson, who was totally free with the ball in the 39th minute. Skíði Pálmason didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Viðar Sigmundsson went, in the 40th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. Elgur Laugum's Skíði Pálmason played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Viðar Sigmundsson in the 45th minute of play. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Krister Arnþórsson to make the kick off. A collision led to Eðalverk Dalvík getting a freekick after 51 minutes play. Árbjartur Margeirsson hit a great ball. Þorsteinn Arnþórsson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Arnviður Hálfdánsson in the 52nd minute of play. A nice corner shot did that Hafþór Finnbjörnsson got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Þorsteinn Arnþórsson quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. In the 67th minute, William Haraldsson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 67 played minutes, Eðalverk Dalvík's Ögmundur Helgason shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Skíði Pálmason came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Eðalverk Dalvík reached it. In the 81st minute, Viðar Sigmundsson reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Skíði Pálmason. The goal made the score 0-2. Elgur Laugum's Skíði Pálmason proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 87th minute of the match, managed to save Elgur Laugum from getting a goal against them. Þorsteinn Arnþórsson stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Krister Arnþórsson's shot from short distance in the 88th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 90th minute, Krister Arnþórsson managed to get in a good position for a shot. Elgur Laugum's supporters rose to their feet, but Krister Arnþórsson was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Þorsteinn Arnþórsson breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Everyone was convinced a goal was close when Eðalverk Dalvík's Viðar Sigmundsson in the 92nd minute lifted the ball towards the upper right corner, but Skíði Pálmason was perfectly placed and prevented a goal for Elgur Laugum through an amazing save. The Eðalverk Dalvík players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
