Spectators: 36 (Terracing: 28, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Gígant Kópavogi's Falur Eyvindarson started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Gellir Ingvarsson took the ball and in the 4 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Líni Ásbergsson. Líni Ásbergsson dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. A collision led to Gígant Kópavogi getting a freekick after 13 minutes play. Reinar Teitsson hit a great ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Fabrisíus Birkisson in the 14th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Líni Ásbergsson saved Gígant Kópavogi from getting behind. After some fancy dribbling in the 16th minute, Gellir Ingvarsson managed to get in a good position for a shot. Vaka Þórshöfn's supporters rose to their feet, but Gellir Ingvarsson was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Líni Ásbergsson breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Fabrisíus Birkisson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 18th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Falur Eyvindarson in the 21st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Valgarður Bjargmundarson prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After a defensive mix-up in Gígant Kópavogi's zone, Gellir Ingvarsson stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Líni Ásbergsson came out of the goal and Gellir Ingvarsson tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 30th minute the ball was on its way in behind Gígant Kópavogi's goalkeeper Líni Ásbergsson, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Fabrisíus Birkisson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 33rd minute. Líni Ásbergsson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of Vaka Þórshöfn booed when Gígant Kópavogi was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 39 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sophus Davíðsson didn't get a good kick on the ball. Jaki Þorkelsson's late challenge caught a Vaka Þórshöfn's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Jaki Þorkelsson helped the player get up and apologised. After 43 played minutes Gígant Kópavogi got a freekick which was hit by Jaki Þorkelsson. In the 47th minute, Vaka Þórshöfn's Fabrisíus Birkisson ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Líni Ásbergsson. Líni Ásbergsson yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-1. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-1 at half-time.

Líni Ásbergsson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Fabrisíus Birkisson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 61 minutes into the game, Falur Eyvindarson recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Valgarður Bjargmundarson. Falur Eyvindarson showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-2. Falur Eyvindarson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 65th minute. Valgarður Bjargmundarson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Líni Ásbergsson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Fabrisíus Birkisson in the 71st minute of the match. In the 73rd minute of the match Valter Davíðsson shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Valgarður Bjargmundarson showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. 77 minutes into the game, Svanhólm Másson was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Vaka Þórshöfn's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Gígant Kópavogi the free kick. After a rather tough play, Vaka Þórshöfn's Svanhólm Másson got a free kick in the 77th minute. Helgi Fannarsson struck a weak shot in the 83rd minute. Valgarður Bjargmundarson didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Gígant Kópavogi. Valgarður Bjargmundarson was out of position in the 84 minute of play, and Falur Eyvindarson capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Falur Eyvindarson really showed his touch with that goal: 2-3. An unexpectedly hard shot by Falur Eyvindarson in the 90th minute of play forced Vaka Þórshöfn's goalkeeper Valgarður Bjargmundarson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 91 minutes, Fabrisíus Birkisson mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Vaka Þórshöfn and the Gígant Kópavogi players grew even worse after the yellow card. Fabrisíus Birkisson kicked well hit freekick during the 91st minute of the match. Finnvarður Egilsson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 96th minute. Líni Ásbergsson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Fabrisíus Birkisson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 98th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Líni Ásbergsson having to interfere. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Gígant Kópavogi walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
