Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Kaprasíus Sveinbjörnsson during the 2nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 2nd minute, Kaprasíus Sveinbjörnsson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Kolur Sindrason fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 5th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Styr Kjaransson having to interfere. In the 20th minute, Jónsteinn Karlsson got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. A collision led to KFS Suðureyri getting a freekick after 23 minutes play. Ásbergur Hásteinsson hit a great ball. Bergþór Magnússon acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 24th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Enok Fannarsson. Styr Kjaransson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kolur Sindrason in the 30th minute of play. Elías Björgólfsson blasted a shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Bergþór Magnússon having to make a save. Elías Björgólfsson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bergþór Magnússon having to interfere. Styr Kjaransson came out of the goal in the 39th minute to try and stop a shot by KFS Suðureyri's Jónsteinn Karlsson. But to his dismay, Jónsteinn Karlsson quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. 42 minutes into the match, KFS Suðureyri's Jónsteinn Karlsson sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Styr Kjaransson narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

After having played for 55 minutes, Freymóður Halsson managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Gríma Mývatni's supporters crossed their fingers, but Freymóður Halsson was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Elías Björgólfsson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 63rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Freymóður Halsson struck a weak shot in the 65th minute. Bergþór Magnússon didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Gríma Mývatni. Bergþór Magnússon showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Elías Björgólfsson, who was totally free with the ball in the 67th minute. KFS Suðureyri's Bergþór Magnússon played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Elías Björgólfsson in the 69th minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Elías Björgólfsson in the 71st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Bergþór Magnússon prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 74 minutes into the match, KFS Suðureyri's goal looked a bit too open when Elías Björgólfsson came free, but Bergþór Magnússon reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Kolur Sindrason fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 76th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Styr Kjaransson having to interfere. If Freymóður Halsson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 83rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jónsteinn Karlsson could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 87th minute of the match, but Styr Kjaransson made a huge save. Freymóður Halsson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 89th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Bergþór Magnússon made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Elías Björgólfsson in the 93rd minute of play. 94 minutes into the match, Freymóður Halsson had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Bergþór Magnússon . KFS Suðureyri's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Freymóður Halsson was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-2. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. KFS Suðureyri walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
