The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Ellert Hinriksson in the 7thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Gunngeir Hafbergsson, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Beinteinn Friðriksson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Skafti Emilsson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 12 minutes into the match, Kolviður Eyþórsson had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Gunngeir Hafbergsson. Marska Vík's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Kolviður Eyþórsson was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. Henning Róbertsson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 18th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Beinteinn Friðriksson having to interfere. When the match had gone on for 29 minutes, Ellert Hinriksson took a quick shot and it went in 3-0 without a chance for Gunngeir Hafbergsson to make any attempt to save it. Henning Róbertsson recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 36th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 37th minute Skafti Emilsson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Beinteinn Friðriksson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some careless play in the Flink Kópaskeri defense, Skafti Emilsson kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Beinteinn Friðriksson. The Flink Kópaskeri fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Beinteinn Friðriksson should have stopped the shot. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 3-1.
