The referee ignored Flink Kópaskeri's protests and gave Daníel Georgsson a yellow card for diving instead. 7 minutes into the match, Ernst Indriðason had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Beinteinn Friðriksson. Flink Kópaskeri's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Ernst Indriðason was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. After 16 minutes, Páll Sigfússon mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Tilvera Bæ and the Flink Kópaskeri players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Tilvera Bæ's Páll Sigfússon got a free kick in the 16th minute. In the 17th minute Kolviður Eyþórsson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Borgþór Hallbjörnsson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 17th match minute, Tilvera Bæ was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rósinberg Jafetsson to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dufgus Leifsson in the 22nd minute of play forced Flink Kópaskeri's goalkeeper Beinteinn Friðriksson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Tilvera Bæ's zone, Kolviður Eyþórsson stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Borgþór Hallbjörnsson came out of the goal and Kolviður Eyþórsson tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Rósinberg Jafetsson during the 26th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Tilvera Bæ getting a freekick after 26 minutes play. Rósinberg Jafetsson hit a great ball. Flink Kópaskeri's Ellert Hinriksson got a good chance for a goal in the 28th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After some fancy dribbling in the 29th minute, Ellert Hinriksson managed to get in a good position for a shot. Flink Kópaskeri's supporters rose to their feet, but Ellert Hinriksson was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Borgþór Hallbjörnsson breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Borgþór Hallbjörnsson didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Kolviður Eyþórsson went, in the 34th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. After a rather tough play, Flink Kópaskeri's Eyjólfur Finnsson got a free kick in the 36th minute. Beinteinn Friðriksson was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Dufgus Leifsson showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 2-1 in the 38 minute of play. After 43 played minutes Tilvera Bæ got a freekick which was hit by Breki Jafetsson. Kolviður Eyþórsson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 47th minute. Borgþór Hallbjörnsson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Kolviður Eyþórsson was the one to do the kick off. Ernst Indriðason struck a weak shot in the 59th minute. Beinteinn Friðriksson didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Tilvera Bæ. In the 64th match minute, Flink Kópaskeri was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sigurjón Guðlaugsson to maneuver through the defense. After recieving a nice pass, Tilvera Bæ's Breki Jafetsson tried to score from far away in the 64th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. A collision led to Flink Kópaskeri getting a freekick after 66 minutes play. Hallgarður Jósafatsson hit a great ball. Kolviður Eyþórsson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 72nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Flink Kópaskeri's Beinteinn Friðriksson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dufgus Leifsson in the 75th minute of play. In the 76th minute Ernst Indriðason shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Beinteinn Friðriksson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Ernst Indriðason came up free with the goalie in the 79th minute, the Tilvera Bæ fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ernst Indriðason couldn't finish the play. Sigurjón Guðlaugsson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 86th minute. Borgþór Hallbjörnsson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of Flink Kópaskeri booed when Tilvera Bæ was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 87 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ási Arason didn't get a good kick on the ball. Dufgus Leifsson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Beinteinn Friðriksson having to interfere. In the 93rd minute, Allan Þrándsson ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Beinteinn Friðriksson was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-1. 96 minutes into the game, Breki Jafetsson was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Tilvera Bæ's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Flink Kópaskeri the free kick. The supporters of Flink Kópaskeri booed when Tilvera Bæ was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 96 match minutes in a wonderful position. Breki Jafetsson didn't get a good kick on the ball. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Tilvera Bæ fans cheered their team off the field, for while Flink Kópaskeri had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
