In the 15th match minute, Sunnuhlíð was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gaukur Rolfsson to maneuver through the defense. Finn Ingólfsson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Arthur Halsson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 23rd minute, Bergmar Víkingsson got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 25th minute Hergeir Björgvinsson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Elínór Ráðgeirsson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Valíant Elíasson charged in rather forcefully in the 28th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Valíant Elíasson the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Sunnuhlíð's supporters crossed their fingers, but Bergmar Víkingsson was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 45th minute, Ingimar Hákonsson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 46th minute Hergeir Björgvinsson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Elínór Ráðgeirsson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Arthur Halsson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 48th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Finn Ingólfsson having to interfere. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Arthur Halsson made a kick off. In the 54th minute of the match Esja Búðardal got a corner. Sunnuhlíð's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Starkaður Siggeirsson ran over to the corner to take the kick. When Hergeir Björgvinsson came up free with the goalie in the 58th minute, the Sunnuhlíð fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Hergeir Björgvinsson couldn't finish the play. Hergeir Björgvinsson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 60th minute. Elínór Ráðgeirsson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Arthur Halsson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 67th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Finn Ingólfsson having to interfere. 70 minutes into the match, Sunnuhlíð's goalkeeper Finn Ingólfsson had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Arthur Halsson. The audience thought a goal was coming when Arthur Halsson got free with Finn Ingólfsson in the 74th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. If Bergmar Víkingsson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 80th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead.
