With his leg Srđan Makević managed to avoid a goal in the 6thth minute, when Knjaževac's Bojan Anđić fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Srđan Makević made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tomislav Prodanović in the 8th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Knjaževac's Tomislav Prodanović got a free kick in the 10th minute. When Bojan Anđić came up free with the goalie in the 16th minute, the Knjaževac fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Bojan Anđić couldn't finish the play. If Bojan Anđić had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 25th minute, Danijel Trajković made a precise shot to the right of Toplica Miličković. Knjaževac's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. After 38 played minutes, Knjaževac's Rodoljub Klještan shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Srđan Makević came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Knjaževac reached it. Bojan Anđić blasted a shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Srđan Makević having to make a save. In the 41st minute Tomislav Prodanović shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Srđan Makević saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 44th minute of the match Rodoljub Klještan shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Srđan Makević showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Danijel Trajković stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 63rd minute, Danijel Trajković fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. 68 minutes had been played when some careless play by Bač OFK's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Prodan Mitrašinović was slow to take the kick. During this time Knjaževac's players had a chance to rest. Toplica Miličković didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Voja Livaja went, in the 72nd minute, to the upper right corner, 1-3 was the resulting score. Bojan Anđić fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 78th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Srđan Makević having to interfere. Knjaževac's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Danijel Trajković 84 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 1-4. The audience was convinced that Danijel Trajković's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Toplica Miličković was relentless in the 97th minute of the game.
