The referee ignored Žabalj OFK's protests and gave Borivoj Goljanac a yellow card for diving instead. After 28 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Žabalj OFK! In the 30th minute there was a penalty for Podunavlje OFK. Milorad Krstanović stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Đorđe Markus. 0-3. Podunavlje OFK's Anđelko Mikša played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ignjatije Vilotijević in the 35th minute of play. In the 37th minute, Podunavlje OFK's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Marinko Dabanović fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Anđelko Mikša showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ignjatije Vilotijević, who was totally free with the ball in the 43rd minute. Ignjatije Vilotijević sent away a hard shot on goal in the 47th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After the first half Podunavlje OFK were leading 0-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.
