The audience was convinced that Perica Vujanović's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Ćiro Maksimović was relentless in the 13th minute of the game. When Lazar Lalić fell near the penalty area in the 14th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Novi Sad FK's protests and gave Lazar Lalić a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Novi Sad FK getting a freekick after 14 minutes play. Lazar Lalić hit a great ball. After a defensive mix-up in Novi Sad FK's zone, Ristivoj Nikolin stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ćiro Maksimović came out of the goal and Ristivoj Nikolin tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Perica Vujanović sent away a hard shot on goal in the 17th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ćiro Maksimović came out of the goal in the 20th minute to try and stop a shot by Bela Palanka FK's Perica Vujanović. But to his dismay, Perica Vujanović quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. In the 24th minute, Radoje Simić got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When Radoslav Barović fell near the penalty area in the 27th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Novi Sad FK's protests and gave Radoslav Barović a yellow card for diving instead. In the 26th minute, one of Novi Sad FK:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Novi Sad FK. Ðurica Kažić fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Serafim Maksić having to interfere. Bela Palanka FK's Ristivoj Nikolin got a good chance for a goal in the 39th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Ristivoj Nikolin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 41st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After the first half Bela Palanka FK were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The wind increased when Ðurica Kažić made the kick off in the second half. If Ristivoj Nikolin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 66th match minute, Novi Sad FK was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lazar Lalić to maneuver through the defense. In the 68th minute, Perica Vujanović got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Ristivoj Nikolin received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 71st minute. Ćiro Maksimović tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 95th minute, Ðurica Kažić left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Novi Sad FK fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 4-2. For all the effort they put into the match, the Bela Palanka FK players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Novi Sad FK.
