If Murat Karapandža had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 5th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Dražen Milunović scored 0-1 in the 8th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Boris Čović, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Boris Čović showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Murat Karapandža in the 11th minute of the match. Miljan Lončarević kicked well hit freekick during the 12th minute of the match. Nils-Åke Axelsson made a fantastic save in the 16th minute, when Višeslav Putinčanin sent off a good shot on target. Višeslav Putinčanin's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 17thth minute, Nils-Åke Axelsson skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. After 21 played minutes FK Partizan Beograd got a freekick which was hit by Grigorije Pejaković. After 22 minutes, Janča Sokolov mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the FK Partizan Beograd and the Singidunum players grew even worse after the yellow card. Dražen Milunović received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 30th minute. Boris Čović tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Nils-Åke Axelsson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mitar Momić in the 35th minute of play. 39 minutes into the match, FK Partizan Beograd's goal looked a bit too open when Lazar Cvijetić came free, but Boris Čović reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 41 minutes into the game, Singidunum's Murat Karapandža nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Boris Čović made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-2.

Dražen Milunović who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 51stth minute tested the skills of Boris Čović when he managed to save the team from getting behind. After having played for 53 minutes, Dražen Milunović managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Singidunum's supporters crossed their fingers, but Dražen Milunović was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Boris Čović made a fantastic save in the 56th minute, when Dražen Milunović sent off a good shot on target. In the 57th minute of the match, Martin Anđić got a very nice opportunity to score, but Boris Čović was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Nils-Åke Axelsson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mitar Momić in the 59th minute of play. Gojko Dragojević kicked well hit freekick during the 64th minute of the match. Dražen Milunović succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 1-3 in the 70th playminute. In the 73rd minute, Dražen Milunović left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Singidunum fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-4. Boris Čović made an important save on a dangerous shot by Dražen Milunović in the 78th minute. Boris Čović showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lazar Cvijetić in the 86th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lazar Cvijetić in the 87th minute of play forced FK Partizan Beograd's goalkeeper Boris Čović to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Singidunum's Murat Karapandža in the 90th minute got a chance for a shot 90th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Singidunum's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
