The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After having played for 6 minutes, Brian Topham managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Caversham's supporters crossed their fingers, but Brian Topham was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Simeon Vicković showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Brian Topham, who was totally free with the ball in the 14th minute. Simeon Vicković took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Kenny Colman, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Caversham's Jonathan Bailey played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sanel Nikezić in the 19th minute of play. 20 minutes into the match, El-Ittihad's goal looked a bit too open when Kenny Colman came free, but Simeon Vicković reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jonathan Bailey took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sanel Nikezić, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 31st minute, Hasan Krković hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. El-Ittihad's Simeon Vicković played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kenny Colman in the 41st minute of play. After having played for 46 minutes, Božo Garić managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. El-Ittihad's supporters crossed their fingers, but Božo Garić was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.

58 minutes into the match, Brian Topham had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Simeon Vicković. El-Ittihad's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Brian Topham was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. After 62 minutes, Kenny Colman mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Caversham and the El-Ittihad players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 65 played minutes El-Ittihad got a freekick which was hit by Maksim Bekan. When Borivoj Mićović fell near the penalty area in the 68th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored El-Ittihad's protests and gave Borivoj Mićović a yellow card for diving instead. Rodney Carpenter's long shot made the audience stand up and applaude when it rumbled by Simeon Vicković on his right side and into the goal. 69 minutes into the game it was 2-0. Simeon Vicković stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Brian Topham's shot from short distance in the 78th minute. Caversham's Jonathan Bailey played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sanel Nikezić in the 83rd minute of play. In the 86th minute of the match Milutin Vukmirović sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Jonathan Bailey skillfully saved the ball. Simeon Vicković showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Kenny Colman in the 90th minute of the match. Sanel Nikezić received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 92nd minute. Jonathan Bailey tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Kenny Colman sent away a hard shot on goal in the 94th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kenny Colman in the 96th minute of play forced El-Ittihad's goalkeeper Simeon Vicković to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. For all the effort they put into the match, the El-Ittihad players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Caversham.
