Whitwell's Rex Pascoe got a good chance for a goal in the 34th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 36 minutes, Slaven Bibezić mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Barrow upon Humber and the Whitwell players grew even worse after the yellow card. Damian Mansfield came out of the goal in the 70th minute to try and stop a shot by Barrow upon Humber's Cvijan Nađ. But to his dismay, Cvijan Nađ quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. With a little luck, Barrow upon Humber's Nedjeljko Ajković got control of the ball when Lewis Rouse tried to sneak it across the goal line. Barrow upon Humber's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
