Barnard Castle FC's Edin Bulatović got a good chance for a goal in the 26th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 33 minutes into the match, Barnard Castle FC's goalkeeper Golub Popović had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Jugoslav Krivošija. Golub Popović showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dobrosav Cvetinović, who was totally free with the ball in the 40th minute. Jugoslav Krivošija's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 45thth minute, Golub Popović skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Jugoslav Krivošijas short, quick shot in the 45thth minute got Golub Popović to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Žika Zdravković made a kick off. Dobrosav Cvetinović fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 51st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Golub Popović having to interfere. Ćiro Radan showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dragoljub Karadžić, who was totally free with the ball in the 54th minute. Ćiro Radan made a fantastic save in the 56th minute, when Žika Zdravković sent off a good shot on target. In the 66th minute, Žika Zdravković made a precise shot to the right of Ćiro Radan. Mangotsfield's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. A collision led to Mangotsfield getting a freekick after 75 minutes play. Jugoslav Krivošija hit a great ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Dobrosav Cvetinović in the 88th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Golub Popović saved Barnard Castle FC from getting behind. The Mangotsfield fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Barnard Castle FC were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
