Radenko Mladenović tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Nicholas Daly fell near the penalty area in the 6th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Alston City's protests and gave Nicholas Daly a yellow card for diving instead. 8 minutes into the match, Horfield's Bojan Milutinović broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. In the 12th minute Will Stead shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Radenko Mladenović saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Nino Timotijević fell near the penalty area in the 30th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Horfield's protests and gave Nino Timotijević a yellow card for diving instead. Nino Timotijević kicked well hit freekick during the 30th minute of the match. After 36 minutes of play, Alston City's Jamal Gascoigne made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Radenko Mladenović was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 42nd minute, Daniel Parry hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Daniel Parry charged in rather forcefully in the 43rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Daniel Parry the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 43 played minutes Alston City got a freekick which was hit by Daniel Parry. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Will Stead made a kick off. 53 minutes into the match, Jamal Gascoigne had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Radenko Mladenović. Horfield's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Jamal Gascoigne was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Will Stead in the 58th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Radenko Mladenović saved Horfield from getting behind. In the 60th minute of the match Alston City got a corner. Horfield's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Samuel Hutchins ran over to the corner to take the kick. A well-hit corner resulted in Alastair Titmuss heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. In the 60th match minute, Alston City was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alastair Titmuss to maneuver through the defense. Jamal Gascoigne received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 63rd minute. Alston City's Len Bowler played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Šćepo Nenadić in the 75th minute of play. Alston City's Jamal Gascoigne got a good chance for a goal in the 81st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Horfield's Šćepo Nenadić got a good chance for a goal in the 82nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Šćepo Nenadić had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Šćepo Nenadić sent away a hard shot on goal in the 86th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Uglješa Đurđević fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Len Bowler having to interfere. A collision led to Alston City getting a freekick after 88 minutes play. Daniel Parry hit a great ball. After a defensive mix-up in Alston City's zone, Šćepo Nenadić stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Len Bowler came out of the goal and Šćepo Nenadić tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Jamal Gascoigne could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 92nd minute of the match, but Radenko Mladenović made a huge save. Sveto Pelević kicked well hit freekick during the 94th minute of the match. 98 minutes in the game, Will Stead fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Radenko Mladenović having to interfere. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Alston City had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
