Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 13 minutes into the match, Darfield City's goal looked a bit too open when Lennie Rouse came free, but Obrad Delić reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of Darfield City booed when Cressage was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 14 match minutes in a wonderful position. Vincent Morcom didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 23rd match minute, Cressage was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Richard Rowett to maneuver through the defense. 24 minutes into the game, Svetozar Đokvučić cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. Ralf Crittenden was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. If Svetozar Đokvučić had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 39 played minutes Darfield City got a freekick which was hit by Vujadin Ljumović. Vincent Morcom sent away a hard shot on goal in the 41st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Ćetko Nešović to make the kick off. After 56 minutes, Đorđije Lalošević mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Darfield City and the Cressage players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a defensive mix-up in Cressage's zone, Ćetko Nešović stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ralf Crittenden came out of the goal and Ćetko Nešović tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After having played for 62 minutes, Ćetko Nešović managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Darfield City's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ćetko Nešović was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Svetozar Đokvučić fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 71st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ralf Crittenden having to interfere. Lennie Rouse struck a weak shot in the 73rd minute. Obrad Delić didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Cressage. 74 minutes into the game, Vladimir Hajduković was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Darfield City's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Cressage the free kick. If Svetozar Đokvučić had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 80th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to Cressage getting a freekick after 82 minutes play. Richard Rowett hit a great ball. When Svetozar Đokvučić, who was free, got the in front of the goal in the 83 minute he wasn't focused and tipped the ball just over the goal. The Ralf Crittenden was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. Cressage's Ralf Crittenden played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ćetko Nešović in the 84th minute of play. When Darfield City's Svetozar Đokvučić in the 86th minute got a chance for a shot 86th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Cressage's goalie prevented a goal. Ćetko Nešović struck a weak shot in the 87th minute. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Darfield City had played much better football throughout.
