A wasted opportunity for Burgess Hill AFC. If Nermin Lasić had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 20 minutes into the game, Nermin Lasić recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Ralf Crittenden. Nermin Lasić showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. Burgess Hill AFC's Josip Đukić got a good chance for a goal in the 23rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 25th minute, Josip Đukić reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Ralf Crittenden. The goal made the score 2-0. Lennie Rouse blasted a shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Sergej Mijailović having to make a save. If Vincent Morcom had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience thought a goal was coming when Vujadin Trišanović got free with Ralf Crittenden in the 37th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Richard Rowett charged in rather forcefully in the 38th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Richard Rowett the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 38th match minute, Cressage was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Richard Rowett to maneuver through the defense. After 41 played minutes Cressage got a freekick which was hit by Richard Rowett. Vujadin Trišanović recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 43rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Lennie Rouse to make the kick off. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Prijezda Barjaktarević in the 52nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ralf Crittenden saved Cressage from getting behind. If Josip Đukić had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 53rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 55th minute, Lale Ćuzović got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Vujadin Trišanović received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 57th minute. Burgess Hill AFC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Lennie Rouse was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-1. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Vujadin Trišanović in the 66th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ralf Crittenden saved Cressage from getting behind. Sergej Mijailović made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luke Thurman in the 70th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 73rd minute, Lale Ćuzović managed to get in a good position for a shot. Burgess Hill AFC's supporters rose to their feet, but Lale Ćuzović was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ralf Crittenden breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Vujadin Trišanović received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 76th minute. Lale Ćuzović charged in rather forcefully in the 87th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down.
