Spectators: 35 (Terracing: 27, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Llwydeu Flanagan took the kick off in the first half of the match. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 4th minute of the game. One of UWA Maesteg:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Cardiff Utd:s goal. Powell Lett shot the penalty kick right outside the post. Gwyddno Earnshaw sent away a hard shot on goal in the 7th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Taffy Gilboy kicked well hit freekick during the 13th minute of the match. Powell Lett, 13 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Llwydeu Flanagan received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 17th minute. Goreu Kempster tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. UWA Maesteg's Goreu Kempster proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 19th minute of the match, managed to save UWA Maesteg from getting a goal against them. In the 20th minute, Gwyddno Earnshaw got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Goreu Kempster showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Llwydeu Flanagan in the 22nd minute of the match. 23 minutes into the game, Cadfan Biddwell was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Cardiff Utd's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave UWA Maesteg the free kick. Cadfan Biddwell hit a great freekick 23 minutes into the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 28th minute, Brathach Leggott managed to get in a good position for a shot. UWA Maesteg's supporters rose to their feet, but Brathach Leggott was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Brathach Browning breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 29th minute, Kenyon Keyes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 30th minute Teregud Essig shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Brathach Browning saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Brathach Leggott sent away a hard shot on goal in the 31st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Teregud Essig had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Brathach Browning made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Teregud Essig in the 36th minute of play. Cardiff Utd's Cadfan Biddwell got his second yellow card of the match in the 39th minute. The referee ordered Cadfan Biddwell off the ground. Teregud Essig sent away a hard shot on goal in the 41st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Teregud Essig recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 47th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Teregud Essig stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 56 minutes into the match, Cardiff Utd's goalkeeper Brathach Browning had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Teregud Essig. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gwyddno Earnshaw in the 58th minute of play forced UWA Maesteg's goalkeeper Goreu Kempster to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 69 minutes into the match, Cardiff Utd's Gwyddno Earnshaw sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Goreu Kempster narrowly saved just below the crossbar. When Cardiff Utd's Gwyddno Earnshaw in the 76th minute got a chance for a shot 76th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. The supporters of UWA Maesteg booed when Cardiff Utd was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 80 match minutes in a wonderful position. Powell Lett didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Cardiff Utd's zone, Tudur Bruce stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Brathach Browning came out of the goal and Tudur Bruce tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Gwyddno Earnshaw in the 84th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Goreu Kempster prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Brathach Browning made a fantastic save in the 90th minute, when Teregud Essig sent off a good shot on target. After a rather tough play, Cardiff Utd's Llwydeu Flanagan got a free kick in the 90th minute. Gwyddno Earnshaw took the ball and in the 96 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Goreu Kempster. Goreu Kempster dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. Cardiff Utd's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
