Gethin Loane showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gethin King in the 12th minute of the match. Cadwallen Dulleran scored 1-1 in the 14th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Govan Inger, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Govan Inger made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gwyneira Breslin in the 20th minute of play. Bwlch Gunning kicked well hit freekick during the 20th minute of the match. After some careless play in the Portuguese Lions defense, Huw Colporteur kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Gethin Loane. The Portuguese Lions fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Gethin Loane should have stopped the shot. If Cadwallen Dulleran had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 34th minute Gwyneira Breslin shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Govan Inger saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Huw Colporteur fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gethin Loane having to interfere. The supporters of UWA Prestatyn booed when Portuguese Lions was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 37 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cadwallen Dulleran didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 47th minute Gwyneira Breslin shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Govan Inger saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 2-2 after a close first half.

The wind increased when Cadwallen Dulleran made the kick off in the second half. Cadwallen Dulleran fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 53rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Govan Inger having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Huw Colporteur in the 57th minute of play forced Portuguese Lions's goalkeeper Gethin Loane to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 59th minute, Gethin King got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Portuguese Lions's Gethin Loane played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gethin King in the 61st minute of play. In the 67th minute Gethin King shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gethin Loane saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Gethin King fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 71st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gethin Loane having to interfere. After 81 played minutes Portuguese Lions got a freekick which was hit by Robat Brine. It was beautiful to see UWA Prestatyn's Bwlch Gunning in action when he in the 83rd minute dribbled his way through a couple of opponents and the fired away a shot from almost standing still. First the ball seemed to get in, but turned out to be on the outside of the net. A great chance! Gwyneira Breslin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 85th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Huw Colporteur received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 89th minute. Gethin Loane tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Portuguese Lions walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
