Cardiff's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. 8 minutes into the match, Cardiff's Teregud Brien sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Gruddyeu Whitster narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Deiniol Hinton received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 9th minute. Gruddyeu Whitster tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Gruddyeu Whitster showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Teregud Brien in the 11th minute of the match. Teregud Brien was extremely unlucky when he, in the 17th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. If Cedric Diamond had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Teregud Brien in the 20th minute of play forced Aberystwyth Utd's goalkeeper Gruddyeu Whitster to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Deiniol Hinton struck a weak shot in the 22nd minute. Gruddyeu Whitster didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Cardiff. Bwlch Thatcher showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kynwal Hooley, who was totally free with the ball in the 24th minute. Cardiff's Bwlch Thatcher played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Syvwlch Carey in the 26th minute of play. 27 minutes into the match, Tad Breen had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Bwlch Thatcher. Cardiff's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Tad Breen was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. In the 30th minute, Syvwlch Carey made a precise shot to the right of Bwlch Thatcher. Cardiff's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-2. In the 36th minute of the match Baudwin Lister shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Bwlch Thatcher showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Cadwallen Workman's late challenge caught a Cardiff's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Cadwallen Workman helped the player get up and apologised. After 40 played minutes Aberystwyth Utd got a freekick which was hit by Cadwallen Workman. Gruddyeu Whitster stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Teregud Brien's shot from short distance in the 41st minute. Cadwallen Workman got his second yellow card in the match during the 42nd minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. After a rather tough play, Aberystwyth Utd's Cadwallen Workman got a free kick in the 43rd minute. Deiniol Hinton might have been able to make a better finish in the 45th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Gruddyeu Whitster. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Deiniol Hinton ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 46th minute, Deiniol Hinton got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Disappointed in the 1-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Teregud Brien to make the kick off. Gruddyeu Whitster showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Teregud Brien in the 55th minute of the match. Aberystwyth Utd's Gruddyeu Whitster played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Teregud Brien in the 63rd minute of play. Cardiff's Bwlch Thatcher proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 69th minute of the match, managed to save Cardiff from getting a goal against them. In the 75th minute, Cedric Diamond left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Cardiff fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-2. After having played for 79 minutes, Kynwal Hooley managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Aberystwyth Utd's supporters crossed their fingers, but Kynwal Hooley was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. A hard shot by Baudwin Lister from long distance, 83 minutes into the match, got Bwlch Thatcher's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. In the 88th match minute, Aberystwyth Utd was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Llyr Peruker to maneuver through the defense. In the 92nd minute Teregud Brien shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gruddyeu Whitster saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
