In the 13th minute Duach Ashbrook shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bwlch Thatcher saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Granwen Day made a fantastic save in the 15th minute, when Deiniol Hinton sent off a good shot on target. The audience thought a goal was coming when Deiniol Hinton got free with Granwen Day in the 18th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 24th minute, Drystan Birkbeck hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 26th minute of the match Beli Chain sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Bwlch Thatcher skillfully saved the ball. Teregud Brien received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 31st minute. Granwen Day tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With a little luck, Floreat Salopia's Granwen Day got control of the ball when Cedric Diamond tried to sneak it across the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Deiniol Hinton got free with Granwen Day in the 34th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After a rather tough play, Floreat Salopia's Aedd Cooper got a free kick in the 43rd minute. In the 45th match minute, Floreat Salopia was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Kent Horton to maneuver through the defense. Kent Horton's late challenge caught a Cardiff's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Kent Horton helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Cardiff booed when Floreat Salopia was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 46 match minutes in a wonderful position. Kent Horton didn't get a good kick on the ball. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

The wind increased when Tegvan Kean made the kick off in the second half. When the match had gone on for 52 minutes, Tegvan Kean took a quick shot and it went in 1-1 without a chance for Bwlch Thatcher to make any attempt to save it. Granwen Day took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Teregud Brien, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Teregud Brien fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Granwen Day having to interfere. With his leg Bwlch Thatcher managed to avoid a goal in the 65thth minute, when Floreat Salopia's Kent Horton fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Bwlch Thatcher took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tegvan Kean, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Kent Horton could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 78th minute of the match, but Bwlch Thatcher made a huge save. Granwen Day made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Teregud Brien in the 79th minute of play. The audience was convinced that Teregud Brien's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Granwen Day was relentless in the 88th minute of the game. 92 minutes into the game, Duach Ashbrook cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-4. Bwlch Thatcher was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. If Teregud Brien had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 97th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the referee blew the final whistle jeers and boos were heard from the home team's supporters. They were angered to see Cardiff lose a match they had controlled from the kick-off.
