Flint's Sugyn Connaughtan got a good chance for a goal in the 37th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Bors Foote received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 40th minute. Ceri Kevigan tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

After a defensive mix-up in Flint's zone, Dilwyn Johnson stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ceri Kevigan came out of the goal and Dilwyn Johnson tried to chip the ball over his head. Ceri Kevigan was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Renfrew Fitzjohn kicked well hit freekick during the 75th minute of the match. Anynnawg Scribler came out of the goal and Sugyn Connaughtan tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 84th minute, Sugyn Connaughtan managed to get in a good position for a shot. Flint's supporters rose to their feet, but Sugyn Connaughtan was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Anynnawg Scribler breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Renfrew Fitzjohn had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ceri Kevigan made a fantastic save in the 93rd minute, when Bors Foote sent off a good shot on target. Cardiff City F.C were delighted with the way they had won the match. They had held their defensive line well and made the most of their chances, to claim a victory over Flint's much stronger midfield.
