Habib Agrebi showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Bassem Jaballah in the 6th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 7th minute, Taoufik Moatamri managed to get in a good position for a shot. Gedling's supporters rose to their feet, but Taoufik Moatamri was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Habib Agrebi breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 9 minutes into the match, Whickham City's goal looked a bit too open when Bassem Jaballah came free, but Habib Agrebi reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of Whickham City booed when Gedling was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 15 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hatem Aouichaoui didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 16 played minutes, Whickham City's Mokhtar Chiba shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Zine Jouili came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Whickham City reached it. In the 18th minute Taoufik Moatamri shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Habib Agrebi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Taoufik Moatamri received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 21st minute. Habib Agrebi tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Achraf Sassi to make the kick off. Zine Jouili showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Achraf Sassi, who was totally free with the ball in the 58th minute. In the 67th minute, Fraj Memmi hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Habib Agrebi was a little too slow when Bassem Jaballah got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 69th minute. The score was now 2-1. The referee gave Gedling a penalty, 75 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Maher Zaairi, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Whickham City's Habib Agrebi. 2-2. Zine Jouili stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Achraf Sassi's shot from short distance in the 80th minute. In the 84th minute the ball was on its way in behind Gedling's goalkeeper Zine Jouili, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Taoufik Moatamri might have been able to make a better finish in the 88th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Habib Agrebi. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Taoufik Moatamri ran back to his position shaking his head. Bassem Jaballah sent away a hard shot on goal in the 89th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a defensive mix-up in Whickham City's zone, Bassem Jaballah stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Habib Agrebi came out of the goal and Bassem Jaballah tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. A collision led to Gedling getting a freekick after 97 minutes play. Hatem Aouichaoui hit a great ball. Zine Jouili showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Aziz Trabelsi, who was totally free with the ball in the 98th minute. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
