When Taoufik Moatamri fell near the penalty area in the 8th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Gedling's protests and gave Taoufik Moatamri a yellow card for diving instead. The audience was convinced that Taoufik Moatamri's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Tarak Limam was relentless in the 12th minute of the game. In the 16th minute Taoufik Moatamri shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tarak Limam saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Bassem Jaballah recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 17th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 21 minutes into the match, Waltham Cross's goal looked a bit too open when Taoufik Moatamri came free, but Tarak Limam reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Taoufik Moatamri couldn't finish the play. 33 minutes into the game, Issam Ben Dhia was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Waltham Cross's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Gedling the free kick. In the 33rd match minute, Waltham Cross was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Issam Ben Dhia to maneuver through the defense. 34 minutes into the match, Waltham Cross's goal looked a bit too open when Taoufik Moatamri came free, but Tarak Limam reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Moncef Ayari fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Zine Jouili having to interfere. Zine Jouili made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ali Souissi in the 46th minute of play. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

This resulted in a 0-1 score and a disappointed Tarak Limam as he didn't even see the shot coming. Moncef Ayari sent away a hard shot on goal in the 84th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 90 minutes in the game, the ball went up into the seats when Gedling's Bassem Jaballah fired away a shot that was just a little bit too high. He walked away shaking his head. 96 minutes into the game, Moncef Ayari cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Zine Jouili was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Despite being the better team, Gedling failed to find the winning goal and were forced to settle for a single point.
