In the 20th minute of the match Anouar Bouzaiene sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Mourad Mustapha skillfully saved the ball. In the 21st match minute, Leconfield FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tarak M'hadhebi to maneuver through the defense. Maher Mabrouk sent away a hard shot on goal in the 23rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Mourad Mustapha tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Mourad Mustapha made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Zoubair Boumnijel in the 47th minute of play. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Zoubair Boumnijel stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 52 minutes into the match, Sutton in Ashfield United's goalkeeper Ahmed Karoui had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Radhi Baya. After 55 played minutes Sutton in Ashfield United got a freekick which was hit by Bahi Bouazizi. After a rather tough play, Sutton in Ashfield United's Bahi Jemmali got a free kick in the 79th minute. Ahmed Karoui showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tarek Naoui, who was totally free with the ball in the 83rd minute. Tarek Naoui fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 88th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ahmed Karoui having to interfere. In the 90th minute, Majdi Mzali hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Radhi Baya could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 91st minute of the match, but Ahmed Karoui made a huge save. After having played for 94 minutes, Tarek Naoui managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Leconfield FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Tarek Naoui was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Leconfield FC's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
