After 18 minutes, David Jemâa mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Stockton-on-Tees City and the Alwinton United players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Stockton-on-Tees City getting a freekick after 18 minutes play. David Jemâa hit a great ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 19th minute, Hichem Namouchi managed to get in a good position for a shot. Alwinton United's supporters rose to their feet, but Hichem Namouchi was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Abdallah Massaoud breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Hédi Karoui made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mokhtar Zaalani in the 23rd minute of play. Abdallah Massaoud showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Majed Ben Kalaï in the 30th minute of the match. When Sadok Naoui fell near the penalty area in the 31st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Alwinton United's protests and gave Sadok Naoui a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Alwinton United's Sadok Naoui got a free kick in the 31st minute. In the 32nd minute, Ali Zaalani hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After recieving a nice pass, Stockton-on-Tees City's Ammar Salem tried to score from far away in the 33rd minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Mohammed Benslimane 's late challenge caught a Alwinton United's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Mohammed Benslimane helped the player get up and apologised. In the 35th minute, Mohammed Benslimane hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Jemeleddine Jemmali had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jemeleddine Jemmali received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 46th minute. Abdallah Massaoud tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Hichem Namouchi struck a weak shot in the 53rd minute. Abdallah Massaoud didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Alwinton United. David Jemâa could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 55th minute of the match, but Hédi Karoui made a huge save. Alwinton United's Hédi Karoui played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mokhtar Zaalani in the 56th minute of play. In the 60th minute, Stockton-on-Tees City's Mohammed Benslimane ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Hédi Karoui. Hédi Karoui yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-1. The supporters of Stockton-on-Tees City booed when Alwinton United was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 62 match minutes in a wonderful position. Zied Ben Younes didn't get a good kick on the ball. Hédi Karoui made a fantastic save in the 65th minute, when David Jemâa sent off a good shot on target. David Jemâa struck a weak shot in the 69th minute.
