Nizar Essediri who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 11thth minute tested the skills of Bahi Bourguiba when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Riadh Chiki kicked well hit freekick during the 13th minute of the match. Haroune Negrouz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Houcine Ghariani in the 15th minute of the match. Newbiggin's Houcine Ghariani got a good chance for a goal in the 17th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 19th minute of the match Caid Cherif shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Haroune Negrouz showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. 0-1 became the score in the 23rd minute when Chaker Dermech elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. Said Ben Kalaï kicked well hit freekick during the 26th minute of the match. Haroune Negrouz didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Chaker Dermech went, in the 30th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. Staithes City's Haroune Negrouz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Houcine Ghariani in the 35th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Staithes City's Radhi Limam got a free kick in the 36th minute. Mohamed Jaouachi sent away a hard shot on goal in the 42nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 44th minute of the match, Nizar Essediri got a very nice opportunity to score, but Bahi Bourguiba was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. After a rather tough play, Newbiggin's Chaker Dermech got a free kick in the 45th minute. Staithes City's Habib Masmoudi couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 48th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Newbiggin. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Mohamed Jaouachi was the one to do the kick off. Caid Cherif was shown his second yellow card after 52 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. Nizar Essediri fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 55th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bahi Bourguiba having to interfere. If Mohamed Jaouachi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Nizar Essediri struck a weak shot in the 62nd minute. Bahi Bourguiba didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Staithes City. Houcine Ghariani recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 65th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Bahi Bourguiba showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mohamed Jaouachi, who was totally free with the ball in the 73rd minute. If Houcine Ghariani had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Mohamed Jaouachi fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 77th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bahi Bourguiba having to interfere. 84 minutes into the match, Staithes City's goalkeeper Haroune Negrouz had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Houcine Ghariani. Mohamed Jaouachi sent away a hard shot on goal in the 86th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Mohamed Jaouachi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Mohamed Jaouachi received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 97th minute. Bahi Bourguiba tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Newbiggin eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
