Maher Ghannouchi received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 16th minute. Fraj Yahia tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Blaise Jamaa struck a weak shot in the 18th minute. Fraj Yahia didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ashbourne. The supporters of Ashbourne booed when Kirkby was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 19 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sadok Jennet didn't get a good kick on the ball. Fraj Yahia made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Maher Ghannouchi in the 29th minute of play. Michel Beya received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 32nd minute. Hamdi Attouga tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When the match had gone on for 34 minutes, Maher Ghannouchi put it in 0-2 from a short distance just to the right of Fraj Yahia. Kirkby's Michel Beya got a good chance for a goal in the 38th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Mounir Slim fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hamdi Attouga having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Ashbourne's Hichem Chaldun got a free kick in the 44th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Ashbourne's zone, Mounir Slim stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Hamdi Attouga came out of the goal and Mounir Slim tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After the first half Ashbourne were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Maher Ghannouchi stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After 55 played minutes Kirkby got a freekick which was hit by Sadok Jennet. Blaise Jamaa could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 58th minute of the match, but Fraj Yahia made a huge save. Mounir Slim fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 62nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hamdi Attouga having to interfere. When Adel Aleya fell near the penalty area in the 65th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Ashbourne's protests and gave Adel Aleya a yellow card for diving instead. Hamdi Attouga showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mounir Slim, who was totally free with the ball in the 67th minute. Kirkby's Michel Beya got a good chance for a goal in the 69th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Kirkby's Fraj Yahia proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 74th minute of the match, managed to save Kirkby from getting a goal against them. Blaise Jamaas short, quick shot in the 75thth minute got Fraj Yahia to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. In the 76th minute Maher Ghannouchi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fraj Yahia saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Thanks to some nice moves Blaise Jamaa could shoot a difficult shot in the 81st minute, which Fraj Yahia however easily saved by the left post. If Mounir Slim had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 83rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 87 minutes into the match, Kirkby's Mounir Slim sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Hamdi Attouga narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Haythem Gasmi charged in rather forcefully in the 91st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Haythem Gasmi the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Haythem Gasmi hit a great freekick 91 minutes into the match. Ashbourne's Hamdi Attouga played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mounir Slim in the 96th minute of play.
