The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. With a little luck, Abingdon's Muhammad Trabelsi got control of the ball when Laaroussi Sélim Haj Ali tried to sneak it across the goal line. 0-1 became the score in the 28th minute when Taieb Ghannem elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. Muhammad Trabelsi showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Radhi Braham, who was totally free with the ball in the 31st minute. If Laaroussi Sélim Haj Ali had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Radhi Braham received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 35th minute. Muhammad Trabelsi tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Radhi Braham came up free with the goalie in the 38th minute, the Dewsbury United fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Radhi Braham couldn't finish the play.

The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Hedhili Yahia during the 54th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 54th match minute, Dewsbury United was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Hedhili Yahia to maneuver through the defense. After recieving a nice pass, Abingdon's Bassem Trabelsi tried to score from far away in the 55th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. If Zied Sboui had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 64th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 66th minute, Taieb Ghannem managed to get in a good position for a shot. Abingdon's supporters rose to their feet, but Taieb Ghannem was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Bahi Zahani breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Bahi Zahani made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Taieb Ghannem in the 73rd minute of play. Zied Sboui scored 0-2 in the 74th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Bahi Zahani, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 77th minute, Radhi Braham got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Mohieddine Bouchrara hit a great freekick 78 minutes into the match. 80 minutes into the game, Dewsbury United's Radhi Braham nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Muhammad Trabelsi made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-2. Taieb Ghannem was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 85th minute. Abingdon's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Abingdon had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
