The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Zine Gabsi in the 10th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Habib Jemâa prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After a rather tough play, St Albans United's Samir Hadji got a free kick in the 11th minute. 12 minutes in the game, the ball went up into the seats when Barmby on the Marsh's Hatem Attouga fired away a shot that was just a little bit too high. He walked away shaking his head. Bechir Ben Saada sent away a hard shot on goal in the 16th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 19 played minutes Barmby on the Marsh got a freekick which was hit by Chokri Badra . Hichem Maatouk fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Helmi Selliti having to interfere. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Hedhili Chiboub during the 23rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 23 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Barmby on the Marsh! If Bechir Ben Saada had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Habib Jemâa stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Hatem Attouga's shot from short distance in the 33rd minute. Hichem Maatouk fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Helmi Selliti having to interfere. Hatem Attouga struck a weak shot in the 41st minute. Habib Jemâa didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Barmby on the Marsh. Hatem Attouga's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Habib Jemâa read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 43rd minute of play. Zine Gabsi received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 46th minute. Habib Jemâa tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Helmi Selliti took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Samir Hadji, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After the first half St Albans United were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Without hesitation aimed to the right of Helmi Selliti, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. An unexpected shot in the 59th minute by Hichem Maatouk got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. The supporters of St Albans United booed when Barmby on the Marsh was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 62 match minutes in a wonderful position. Chokri Badra didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Bechir Ben Saada came up free with the goalie in the 76th minute, the St Albans United fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Bechir Ben Saada couldn't finish the play. With a little luck, Barmby on the Marsh's Helmi Selliti got control of the ball when Hichem Maatouk tried to sneak it across the goal line. After 94 minutes, Bechir Ben Saada mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the St Albans United and the Barmby on the Marsh players grew even worse after the yellow card.
