Mohammed Naybet showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Riadh Gmamdia, who was totally free with the ball in the 20th minute. If Rachid Meriah had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Mohammed Naybet showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Riadh Gmamdia in the 26th minute of the match. Redcar United's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Rachid Meriah was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. Mohammed Naybet made a fantastic save in the 42nd minute, when Rachid Meriah sent off a good shot on target. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Riadh Gmamdia made a kick off. In the 54th match minute, Sunderland was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Fahed Dhouib to maneuver through the defense. In the 57th minute, Rachid Meriah left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Sunderland fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-0. Mourad Saïdi fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 64th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mustafa Mnari having to interfere. When Fahed Dhouib was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 65 minutes had been played. A collision led to Sunderland getting a freekick after 66 minutes play. Fahed Dhouib hit a great ball. After having played for 68 minutes, Bernard Saidi managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Redcar United's supporters crossed their fingers, but Bernard Saidi was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Bernard Saidi fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 73rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mustafa Mnari having to interfere. Mourad Saïdi sent away a hard shot on goal in the 79th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a rather tough play, Sunderland's Bernard Dhiab got a free kick in the 80th minute. If Mourad Saïdi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 81st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Bernard Saidi took the ball and in the 86 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Mustafa Mnari. Mustafa Mnari dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-1. After some careless play in the Sunderland defense, Bernard Saidi kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Mustafa Mnari. The Sunderland fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Mustafa Mnari should have stopped the shot. Mourad Saïdi received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 93rd minute. Mustafa Mnari tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Mustafa Mnari made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mourad Saïdi in the 95th minute of play. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
