The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 5 minutes into the match, Romford's Mohsen Ghannouchi sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Ali Santos narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After 6 minutes, Laamari Dali mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Yapton City and the Romford players grew even worse after the yellow card. Mohsen Ghannouchi sent away a hard shot on goal in the 10th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Kameleddine Ayari charged in rather forcefully in the 13th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Kameleddine Ayari the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 17 minutes, Mohamed Belkahia mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Romford and the Yapton City players grew even worse after the yellow card. Mohamed Belkahia hit a great freekick 17 minutes into the match. After 18 minutes, Abdelaziz Kasraoui made it 0-1 with a short kick to the right side. Romford's Zine Abdelmajid tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 21st minute, Mohamed Rokki hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 24th minute the ball was on its way in behind Romford's goalkeeper Zine Abdelmajid, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After 26 played minutes Romford got a freekick which was hit by Mohamed Belkahia. Haroune Abdallah struck a weak shot in the 33rd minute. Zine Abdelmajid didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Yapton City. The Romford players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Yapton City were winning 0-1.

Zine Abdelmajid showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Haroune Abdallah, who was totally free with the ball in the 55th minute. Romford's Hamdi Ziadi suffered a sore thigh after 60 minutes and couldn't finish the game. Beji Hleli charged in rather forcefully in the 60th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Beji Hleli the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Yapton City getting a freekick after 61 minutes play. Beji Hleli hit a great ball. After having played for 62 minutes, Mohsen Ghannouchi managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Romford's supporters crossed their fingers, but Mohsen Ghannouchi was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 64th minute Kameleddine Ayari shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ali Santos saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After having played for 69 minutes, Abdelaziz Kasraoui managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Yapton City's supporters crossed their fingers, but Abdelaziz Kasraoui was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The audience was convinced that Haroune Abdallah's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Zine Abdelmajid was relentless in the 74th minute of the game. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Haroune Abdallah in the 76th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Zine Abdelmajid prevented the ball from getting in the gole. If Abdelaziz Kasraoui had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 83rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. When Haroune Abdallah came up free with the goalie in the 85th minute, the Yapton City fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Haroune Abdallah couldn't finish the play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Haroune Abdallah in the 87th minute of play forced Romford's goalkeeper Zine Abdelmajid to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After having played for 93 minutes, Abdelaziz Kasraoui managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Yapton City's supporters crossed their fingers, but Abdelaziz Kasraoui was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Yapton City eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
