Haykel Bouzayène took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Blaise Ghariani, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 8th minute Blaise Ghariani shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Haykel Bouzayène saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Blaise Ghariani hit a great freekick 12 minutes into the match. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 13th minute of the game. One of Southwold:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Wellington City:s goal. The referee gave Wellington City a penalty, 14 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Ali Mkacher, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Southwold's Sahbi Ben Salem. 1-0. After a defensive mix-up in Southwold's zone, Chems Souayati stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Sahbi Ben Salem came out of the goal and Chems Souayati tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Anis Jennet received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 35th minute. Sahbi Ben Salem tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpected shot in the 37th minute by Anis Jennet got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. After having played for 45 minutes, Anis Jennet managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Wellington City's supporters crossed their fingers, but Anis Jennet was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

The supporters of Wellington City booed when Southwold was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 55 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hassib Fergani didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ali Mkacher's long shot made the audience stand up and applaude when it rumbled by Sahbi Ben Salem on his right side and into the goal. 55 minutes into the game it was 2-0. Jawhar Beya's late challenge caught a Southwold's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Jawhar Beya helped the player get up and apologised. Muhammad Mestiri received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 61st minute. Haykel Bouzayène tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Blaise Ghariani in the 63rd minute of play forced Wellington City's goalkeeper Haykel Bouzayène to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 66th play minute Muhammad Mestiri came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Haykel Bouzayène. 2-1. Anis Jennet sent away a hard shot on goal in the 70th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of Southwold booed when Wellington City was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 78 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sabri Bargawi didn't get a good kick on the ball. 80 minutes into the match, Hatem Essediri had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Haykel Bouzayène. Wellington City's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Hatem Essediri was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-2. Haykel Bouzayène made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Blaise Ghariani in the 89th minute of play. The second half was just like the first, even and exciting. The match ended in a draw.
