To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Chedly Zahaf sent away a hard shot on goal in the 21st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some fancy dribbling in the 30th minute, Chedly Zahaf managed to get in a good position for a shot. Hornchurch's supporters rose to their feet, but Chedly Zahaf was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Fathi Bejaoui breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a defensive mix-up in Hornchurch's zone, Slaheddine Naouali stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Abdallah Bhar came out of the goal and Slaheddine Naouali tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Hichem Ayed charged in rather forcefully in the 39th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Hichem Ayed the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Abdallah Bhar made an important save on a dangerous shot by Slaheddine Naouali in the 47th minute. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

Chedly Zahaf fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 52nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fathi Bejaoui having to interfere. After 64 played minutes Lowestoft got a freekick which was hit by Beji Jebali. In the 74th minute, David Melki got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After having played for 83 minutes, Slaheddine Naouali managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Lowestoft's supporters crossed their fingers, but Slaheddine Naouali was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.
