Through an outstanding action, after 4 minutes, Hatem Ben Marzouki successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Ahmed Amor took the ball and in the 8 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Mohamed Bachraoui. Mohamed Bachraoui dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. Riadh Ladgham's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 12thth minute, Hatem Ben Marzouki skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Mohamed Bachraoui stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Chedli M'hadhebi's shot from short distance in the 16th minute. After having played for 17 minutes, Ahmed Amor managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Oldham FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ahmed Amor was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Muhammad Karray charged in rather forcefully in the 18th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Muhammad Karray the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Bury United's Muhammad Karray got a free kick in the 18th minute. Hatem Ben Marzouki made a fantastic save in the 22nd minute, when Riadh Ladgham sent off a good shot on target. Riadh Ladgham could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 25th minute of the match, but Hatem Ben Marzouki made a huge save. When Oldham FC's Ahmed Amor in the 28th minute got a chance for a shot 28th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Bury United's goalie prevented a goal. After a defensive mix-up in Bury United's zone, Chedli M'hadhebi stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Mohamed Bachraoui came out of the goal and Chedli M'hadhebi tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Houcine Rzouga fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hatem Ben Marzouki having to interfere. Riadh Ladgham might have been able to make a better finish in the 44th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Hatem Ben Marzouki. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Riadh Ladgham ran back to his position shaking his head. Houcine Rzouga fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hatem Ben Marzouki having to interfere. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Ahmed Amor made a kick off. Bury United's Mohamed Bachraoui played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ahmed Amor in the 53rd minute of play. Riadh Ladgham received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 56th minute. Hatem Ben Marzouki tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Houcine Rzouga sent away a hard shot on goal in the 65th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The audience was convinced that Riadh Ladgham's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Hatem Ben Marzouki was relentless in the 76th minute of the game. 79 minutes into the game, Ahmed Amor recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Mohamed Bachraoui. Mohamed Bachraoui showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mohamed Belhouane, who was totally free with the ball in the 86th minute. Riadh Ladgham received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 91st minute. Hatem Ben Marzouki tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Oldham FC's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
